Trip Information

About the Trip

Over March break 2012, twelve students will have the opportunity to travel with York School teachers to Tanzania. Over the course of their time in Tanzania, students will be immersed in a variety of life-changing experiences. They will experience African wildlife while on a camping safari visiting culturally significant sites by traveling with guides to the Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, Olduvai Gorge, Mto Wa Mbu town, and Manyara Park. They will, perhaps more significantly, impact the lives of children looking to improve their lives while volunteering at the Amani Home for Children, a home for street youth in the village of Moshi.

The International Service Expedition to Tanzania is a unique leadership and community service opportunity for students that will challenge their world views and lead to personal growth, greater international and cultural understanding, and increased sensitivity to the needs and perspectives of people living in developing regions of our planet.
