Meg Cabot’s “The Princess Diaries”
“ ‘ You’re not Mia Thermopolis any more, honey,’ Dad said. I raised my head.
‘I’m not?’ I said, blinking. “Then who am I?’ He went, kind of sadly,
‘You’re Amelia Mignonette Grimaldi Thermopolis Renaldo, Princess of Genovia.’
A princess?? Me??
Yeah, right.”
Poor Mia! Not only is she flunking Algebra, her mom is dating her Algebra teacher, and the boy of her dreams is a senior and dating her archenemy. No, now they have to tell her that she’s the daughter of a prince, and since her Dad can’t have any more kids, it turns out Ms Amelia Mignonette Grimaldi Thermopolis Renaldo is going to have to rule Genovia one day!!
Um, hello? Hasn’t anyone considered MIA’S feelings? Obviously not, because from princess lessons with Grandmere (ew) and paparazzi stalking her everywhere, Princess Mia’s life has become a right royal muddle!
This book is by Meg Cabot. First in the series of 8 Princess Diaries books, girls from 10 up would love this book, especially if they are princesses!
