Everyone in the Starker family has been killed after being hit by lightning, except for Newton and his Great-Grandmother, Enid. Her secret to living a long life is to see the awful side of everything, but Newton believes there is another solution: Breaking the curse and following the rules of survival. Newton enters the Jerry Potts Academy of Higher Learning and Survival in Moose Jaws, Saskatchewan. At school, Newton also have troubles. How will Newton suceed, with everything that is happening?
