Bill C-46 and C-47 HOW FAR IS TWO FAR?

These amendments to the criminal code are contradictory to everything that this great county holds dear. It is an insult to the freedoms and rights to privacy on witch this county was founded. As a citizen of Canada, I use this blog to express my outrage and to protest this bill, before that right is snatched from the arms of patriotic Canadians as well.

You herd me rant for long enough and I realize a simple bill number is meaningless so let my explain from my over whelming bias standpoint the contents of the bill. However if you believe that freedom of expression should be suppressed or simply don’t want to take my word for it I have provided the bill citation at the bottom so you can read the actual bills without my cynical comments. So at the beginning of bill C-46 it attempts to illegalize spam by making it illegal to be annoying on the internet. Well I know a lot of people who should by that law be locked up for two years. (Debaters you know who I am talking about. Just joking Mrs. Nolan we all love your spam ….I mean emails).  The bill also indirectly stipulates that it is a crime to steel WIFI or possibly Evan make free WIFI available, BUT WAIT THERE’S MORE!!!  If this bill passes it may be illegal to encrypt data (so it is easer for the police to stab you in the back with your own keyboard.).  So lets me get this strait, it will be illegal to  offer free WIFI but  it is also illegal if I chose to encrypt it.  Now on to bill C-47, according to this bill it should be legal for an “Authorized” person to access information about your online activities without the need of a warrant. Well how does this act define “Authorized person”

“authorized”, in relation to a person, means having authority, under the Criminal Code or the Canadian Security Intelligence Service Act, to intercept communications.

“person” includes a partnership, an unincorporated organization, a government, a government agency and any other person or entity that acts in the name of or for the benefit of another.

Well that pretty much includes everyone from CSIS  to the county sheriff.  Many may argue with my borderline anarchist views and say  “if you don’t have anything hide what do you have to fear” well lets say I made an enemy with the local police and I am a high-ranking socialist politician and it so happens that I fly first class, I am not breaking the law but  do I really want that carrier ruining fact exposed.  And even if it don’t have anything to hide, do I really want my ISP  (who will be legally obliged  to keep logs on your internet activity including VoIP calls) and possibly the cops to know  about all my internet activity. Of course this is all justified as “for the good of the people”   this bill was justified  as to make it easer to catch viewers of  child  pornography, but at what cost. It is times like this that we must thank God for bureaucracy, this bill  sill has to go through 3 readings, the senate  and hours of comity, by the time this bill gets accent I will have grandchildren. Hopefully by the time I am decomposed in my grave the supreme court will have ruled to turn over bill C-47 and C-46.  We as Canadians must stand up for our rights and not let someone who’s computer know how only extends as far as how to use the manual typewriter in witch the bill was type make our cyber-laws.

In conclusion…..[well since this is a school assignment I have decided not to include a conclusion as it would be impossible to write one without the use of extreme profanity.]
