The York School Student Blogs

In order to set up your blog for the first time please follow the following instructions.

1. Visit http://blogs.yorkschool.com/yorkstudents

2. On the right side bar click “Create your own blog!”

3. In order to create a blog you must first login – Username: same as your laptop Password: (to be given in class) then click “submit”

4. You are now on the blog creation page In the fields provided fill in the following information

Blog Name: (input your yorkschool username) First Initial + Last Name + grad year

Blog Title: input the name for your Blog ex. “Pete’s Place” (can be changed later”

Privacy: your choice

Press submit

4. You are now logged into your blog dashboard. We must first change your password.

5. On the left hand side bar click on “Users” and then “Your profile” – Scroll down to the bottom and change your password and press “Save”

6. Open a new tab and enter http://www.clustrmaps.com/ Fill out the fields and copy the code given to you.

7. Go back to your Blog Dashboard and click on “Appearance and then “Widgets”

8. Drag the “text” widget back over to your sidebar and paste in the code you copied from http://www.clustrmaps.com/

9. Drag over “Categories” and “Meta” as well

10. In the “Appearance” section click on “Themes” and choose any of the 100 themes available to you. Click “activate” to turn it on. Try many different themes to see which one fits “you”
